본 연구는 학령기 특수교육대상자 자녀를 둔 어머니를 대상으로 특수교육대상자 선정과정 과 선정된 후 교육현장에서의 경험을 알아보기 위한 목적으로 질적연구 방법인 직접 면담법 을 실시하였다. 참여자는 5명의 어머니이며, 연구기간은 2013년 9월~2013년 11월, 총 3개월 동안 진행하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 어머니들은 자녀가 특수교육대상자 선정과 정에서 정보획득과 알권리에 대한 배제, 수동적인 참여경험, 일방적인 통보의 경험을 하고 있었다. 둘째, 교육현장에서 경험한 어머니들의 태도에 따르면, 그들은 교육현장에 대한 불 신, 부적절한 교육제공에 대한 불신, 주객이 전도 된 교육활동의 불편함, 알 권리에 대한 배 제, 교사의 무시하는 태도, 교사의 눈치를 보는 경험을 하고 있었다. 이러한 부모의 경험은 부모와 교사의 협력적 관계형성을 어렵게 만들며, 장애자녀의 특별한 교육적 요구에 적절하 게 대응하지 못하는 요인이 된다.
The purpose of this study was to substantially understand and explore the experience of parents with disabled children in the process for the identification of students with special needs and in the education field after the identification. For this purpose, qualitative research method through direct interviews was used. Participants in this study were five mothers with disabled children, and research procedures was conducted for three months from September 2013 to November 2013. The interviews were used with semi-structured questionnaire, and the collected data was analysed with the data analysis method that Salda?a(2010) proposed. The results of this study are as follows: First, parents with disabled children experienced the exclusion of the information acquisition and the right to know about the information, passive participation and unilateral notice in process for identification of students with special needs. Second, according to the mother's attitude experienced in the field of education, they experienced the distrust of the education field, the distrust for providing inadequate education, the inconvenience of the educational activities, the exclusion of the right to know, the ignoring attitudes of teachers, and the trying to read teacher's mind. Such a parent's experiences will be difficult to create a collaborative relationship between parents and teachers and prevent appropriately to respond the special educational needs of disabled children Therefore we need to redefine the relationship between parents and teachers.
