The present study examined the relations between basic psychological needs satisfaction, daily
stress, and well-being in children. In the present study, general tendency of basic psychological
needs satisfaction, daily stress, and well-being, and their correlations were investigated in fifth
and sixth graders in elementary school. Also, the influence of basic psychological needs
satisfaction on daily stress, and the influence of basic psychological needs satisfaction and daily
stress on children's well-being were examined. The results showed that the relatedness factor
among basic psychological needs exhibited the greatest negative effects on children’s daily
stress. Satisfying children’s basic psychological needs has a greater influence on children’s
well-being than children’s daily stress. Based on these findings, directions for the enhancement
of children's well-being were discussed.
