The purpose of this study is to analyze the value of education, the contents of education support and the methods of education in articles about children s education in the 2000s. Quantitative and qualitative methods of media content analysis were applied in order to conduct research. The data, as collected from 2,688 articles related to children s education in “Woman Dong-A”, are as follows: First, the overall value of education in the articles on children s education in “Woman Dong-A” reflected the college admission system. Second, the overall tendency of contents and methods of education support for realizing education value is concentrated on support contents and methods that allow children to pass an admission system successfully. Therefore, the admission system has influenced articles on children s education of “Woman Dong-A” and content that focuses on successfully passing the admission system were delivered to the parents readers. Parents focused on home education and private tutoring in preparation for school evaluation rather than through school support that lacked such a direct impact on their children s grades and further education. The articles in “Woman Dong-A” were reflected that parent s education support behaviors.
