본고는 미디어 리터러시 및 미디어 리터러시 교육 관련 논의를 소개하고 변화하는 디지털 미디어 환경에서 학습장애 학생의 미디어 리터러시와 관련해 어떠한 연구가 필요한지를 제 시하고자 하는 시론적 성격의 논문이다. 이를 위해 먼저 미디어 리터러시 개념 및 미디어 리터러시 교육과 관련해 이루어져온 주요 논의를 소개하고, 멀티모덜 리터러시(multimodal literacy), 멀티리터러시(multiliteracies), 다중리터러시(multiple literacy)의 맥락에서 학습장애 학생 의 미디어 리터러시와 관련해 검토가 필요한 연구 주제를 제시했다. 구체적으로, 문자언어 이외의 양식에서 나타나는 학습장애 학생의 리터러시에 대한 탐색, 학습장애 학생의 미디어 이용 맥락에 대한 이해, 학습장애 학생의 미디어 리터러시 하위 영역에서의 역량에 대한 연 구의 필요성을 제안하였다. 또한 접근, 이해, 참여라는 미디어 리터러시 역량과 관련하여 이 루어져야 할 연구의 방향도 제시하였다.
The purpose of this paper was to suggest future research on media literacy of students with learning disabilities in the world of digital media technology which is constantly evolving and now playing an important role in the life of these students. First, critical concepts of media literacy, media literacy education, and students competencies required in the digital media environment were reviewed. Then, Based on the notions of mutimodal literacy, multiliteracy, and multiple literacy, directions for future research on students with learning disabilities were proposed in terms of access, understanding, and creating media content.
