We attempt to find the effects of key point control treatment on acute and subacute lower back pain by designing a key point of control treatment group and an electric treatment group. A comparative analysis of the results from a visual analogue scale (VAS) was conducted. Data was collected from 30 patients receiving physical therapy for lower back pain at a hospital in the city of Masan between January and March of 2013. Participants were divided equally into both groups. The results of the therapies were as follows: When observing the effects of the key point of control treatment, the VAS before the treatment, 7.05±1.95, was reduced to 3.41±2.22 after the treatment. Therefore, we can see that the pain subsided after the key point of control treatment (p<0.01). When observing the effects of electric treatment, the VAS before the treatment, 5.75±1.98 was reduced to 3.62±2.19 after the treatment. Therefore, it can be seen that the pain subsided after the treatment (p<0.01). When observing the differences of the VAS value before and after the key point of control treatment and the electric treatment, that of the key point of control group was 3.65±1.48 whereas that of the electric treatment group was 2.13±1.36. Therefore, it can be concluded that the key point of control treatment group is more effective in lumbago attention (p<0.01).
