The purpose of this research was to verify the effects of Admiration Group Counseling Program on Middle School students\' self-esteem, adjustment to school life, and interpersonal relations. To accomplish this purpose, the admiration group counseling program was reorganized by the researcher to be more suitable for the middle school students. And also, as a good guide, many previous research was very helpful in my studying.
The program took place at D middle school located in Busun Metropolitan City. The participants of the program were 24 volunteer third year students. The 24 students were randomly separated into two groups, the experimental group and control group, with 12 students in each group. The admiration group Counseling program was administered by the
researcher for 5 weeks from 28th November 2006 to 28th November 2006, with the time setting of total 10 sessions, 60 minutes per session. To prove the effectiveness of this program, this study examined both the Experimental Group and the Control Group before and after using 3 scales measuring self-esteem, interpersonal relations, and adjustment to middle school life.
The questionnaire was composed of The effects of the group counseling program were analyzed by Paired t-test.
The results of this study was as follows; First, the Admiration Group Counseling Program was proved to be effective on increasing self-esteem of middle school students. Second, the Admiration Group Counseling Program was proved to be effective on interpersonal relations of middle school students. Third, the Admiration Group Counseling Program was proved to be effective on adjustment to school life of middle school students.
